CHARISMA PERFORMING DANCE COMPANY
This Dance Company is open to any student who wishes to pursue a more serious type of dance with numerous performing opportunities. Becoming a member is a unique experience for a young dancer to work with the best teachers in the area as well as gaining exposure to may talented teachers and dancers from around the U.S. It takes not only dance skills and ability to take part in the company. A dancer needs to have the support of her family, as well as desire, commitment, dedication, perseverance, and patience. Thank you for attending this audition and keep this information sheet for future reference.
Company members should anticipate attending approximately 4 competitions per year, at least one of these will be out of town. Cost of each competition will be approximately $30.00 per group number, if we attend a Nationals the cost may be higher but the Parents Organization does do fund raisers to help defray expenses. Keep in mind these are just estimates and subject to change due to the individual competitions.
All Charisma members must be registered for unlimited classes at Evelyn Ott School of Dance.
All members must attend designated company classes along with their regular classes, which include ballet, tap, and jazz. (Gym optional) Also to include any workshops and/or scholarships auditions.
Each dancer is responsible for providing their own attire, which include a performing –out outfit, a competition costume, earrings, cover-up, recital costumes, and all related footwear, tights, and make-up.
All members are required to perform at all Evelyn Ott Recitals as well as any promotional performances in the area.
All members are required to pay fees on a timely basis, including dance class tuition, competition fees, administrative fees, and costume fees.
All new Jr. Charisma members are required to attend summer dance camp at the Norfolk Campus in August. SR & Intermediate member’s workshop will be announced later. THESE ARE MANDATORY!
All members will receive a Charisma Dance Company Agreement and rules at the September parents meeting. At that time each student will need to provide a copy of their birth certificate.
Other fees that you may be responsible for are an administrative fee, competition costume(s) and workshop fees.
Placement in the Dance Company will be the final decision of the artistic director.
