Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Angela Ara Brown has grown to be a successful woman, dancer, singer and actress. During her younger years, Angela studied at Foster’s Baton School, Centerstage, The Norfolk Performing Arts Repertory, The Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts and Evelyn Ott School of Dance. Recently, she tourd with the first national tour of 42nd Street, a Tony award winning musical. Alson, she was seen in a wonderful production of AIDA at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, Florida where she was a featured dancer and singers.
She worked professionally at the age of 18 at Kings Dominion theme park in Virginia. There she performed as a dancer and was given the position of dance captain. Shortly after, she grabbed a performing job at Busch Gardens Williamsburg theme park. Here she was a featured dancer, singer and dance captain. Furthermore, while performing professionally she earned a B.S. in Mass Communications from the historically Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. While attending the university she was a member of the Norolk University Dance Theatre where she has choreographed many dance pieces for the school’s annual dance concerts.
Tara Dozier
Tara Dozier grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, where she trained with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland's pre-professional school and later at the Washington School of Ballet. She has attended renowned summer intensives including the Central Pennsylavania Youth Ballet, the Washington Ballet and the Richmond Ballet. After studying as a dance major at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, she returned to Annapolis to dance professionally with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland, under the new direction of Dianna Cuatto. She began teachng in high school at Miss Jane's Dance Studio, and has also taught at the Stanton Center, Meryhurst College Preparatory School and the Ballet Theatre of Maryland.
Lauren Guall
Trained at the prestigious Oklahoma City University where she was a dance performance major. She graduated Cum Laude and received her Bachelors degree. Currently she is attending graduate school at SUNY Purchase for her MFA in dance performance/teaching. She has performed as a Radio City Rockette for 9 years in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and has been a Rockette swing and a regular teacher for the Rockette Experience program. As a Rockette she has performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York as well as toured to numerous cities around the country such as Detroit, Chicago, Nashville, and Boston. She has performed as a Rockette in shows including The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Amtrak’s Whistle Stop Tour, The Columbus Day Parade, The America’s Day Parade, and Monday Night Football. She has danced with numerous companies such as The American Spirit Dance Co., Journey Dance Co., and Tap Team II. Also she has performed in many shows in New York such as Nothing Like a Dame with Jennifer Holiday, The …lan Awards, The Flobert’s Tap Extravaganza, the Astaire Awards, Dance Break, and the Downtown Theater Festival. She assistant choreographed many industrials which include, Lady Footlocker, Sesame Street, Capezio, Astra-Zeneca, IZOD and Audi; as well as assistant choreographed a new show "Torched" for the downtown theater festival in New York, and the Elan Awards. She assisted Rhonda Miller on choreographing a new show for Princess Cruise lines "Cinematastic" as well as set the show on the original cast. Lauren has also worked on Broadway Bares/Equity Fights AIDS benefit produced by Tony Award winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell. Her teaching experience includes teaching, judging, and choreographing for regional and national dance conventions, competitions, and studios all over the country. Lauren has taught for High School and College programs such as McComb College (MI), Villa Maria Academy (PA), and Conestoga High School (PA). She is also a Professor of dance at Pace University in Manhattan where she teaches jazz, tap and musical theater. She has taught at Broadway Dance Center, New Dance Group, and the Bridge for Dance in Manhattan as well as regularly teaching and choreographing for private dance studios in the Tri-State area. She has been on faculty at Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts camp, and Belvoir Terrace Performing Arts Camp. Lauren has featured her own choreography at the Broadway Dance Center Performance Outlet, the Bridge for Dance, Jazz Dance World Congress Choreography Event, and most recently at the prestigious Jacob’s Pillow inside/out performance space.
JESSICA KROBOTH
Jessica Kroboth studied dance at Evelyn Ott School of Dance and the Governer’s School of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has taught dance for the Chester, Pennsylvania for the “Chester Pals” and outreach program for inner city youths.
She is currently performing with Archedreams as an assistant choreographer and performer and is putting together work for the Philadelphia Friend’s Festival.
Suzanne Long
Ms. Long began her training with the Toledo Ballet and Charlotte Regional Ballet, continuing her studies in Tidewater Ballet Association’s residency program under the direction of Gene Hammett, founder of what is now Virginia Ballet Theatre. During her residency, she earned a scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. Then Ms. Long joined the Cleveland Ballet as a trainee, progressing to soloist and principal roles within a year. She went on to dance professionally for the Cleveland/San Jose Ballet for eleven years. Her many featured roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Maria and Tzarina in Dennis Nahat’s renowned Nutcracker, Swanhilda in Coppelia, and the title role in Giselle. She has toured throughout the United States and Europe including a tour to the Edinburgh Festival.
Ms. Long moved back to the Hampton Roads’ area and joined Virginia Ballet Theatre, dancing such roles as Lucy in the world premiere of Dracula. She also joined the VBT Academy faculty, becoming Assistant Director in 2000. Her teaching credits include School of Cleveland Ballet, Cleveland City Dance, Evelyn Ott School of Dance, and Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts. Ms. Long has also taught and judged dance competitions throughout the United States. In addition to VBT Academy Assistant director, she is currently director of VBT II, choreographer for First Pointe Players and rehearsal assistant, as well as, choreographer for the Virginia Ballet Theatre. Suzanne has set many ballets and her choreography includes: The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Fractred Fairy Tales, Danse de la Sprit, Spring Symphony, Summer Symphony, Cinderella, and several classical and neo-classical pieces.
ROSS MILAM
Ross received his BS in music education and vocal and performance from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky. His professional experience includes Libertyland Amusement Park in Memphis, Tennessee, Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey and Busch Gardens/Water Country in Williamsburg, Virginia. Currently Ross can be seen on Norfolk’s Spirit Cruise Lines as a vocalist and show Captain.
MARC SPAULDING
Marc began his dance training under Lynn Welters at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in, Washington, DC. He later received a BFA from the University of the Arts. His professional credentials include; Walt Disney's Raven-Symone, Philadelphia Dance Company, 2004 NFC Championship halftime Show, Donald Byrd/The Group, featured articles in Dance Magazine, and Under 21 Magazine. His T.V. appearances include Good Morning Atlanta, NBC and VH1 behind the music. His movie appearances include Hairspray. Marc currently teaches and performs abroad as co-owner of F.I.V.E Productions, LLC.
Kristen Verones Kristen was born and raised in Norfolk, graduated from Granby High School. She started her dance career at the age of two with Evelyn Ott School of Dance. She danced and competed with the Charisma Performing Co. Thorough out her years of competition with the Company she won numerous Regional and National Awards. While also training under Denise’s direction she took workshops and master classes with world know teachers in ballet, lyrical, jazz, modern, musical theatre, tap and hip hop. Kristen completed a weeklong workshop in New York with Michael Rafter, the Musical Director for Swing and Thoroughly Modern Millie, which performed on Broadway.
Kristen has worked professionally at Busch Gardens Williamsburg for 5 years and most recently for Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Besides her love for dance she enjoys swimming, camping and having fun with her friends.
Rachel White
Rachel began her training at the New Haven Ballet in Connecticut. She graduated high school from the prestigious University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem as a ballet major. Ms. White also trained and performed with the School of American Ballet, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Hartford Ballet and Boston Ballet’s BBII. Ms. White served on the faculty of both the School of Dance Connecticut (formally the School of the Hartford Ballet) and the city of Hartford’s Dance Program for City Youth. She is a certified member of Dance Masters of America Chapter #5 and serves on Board of Directors. She is also a certified Ballet Examiner for the chapter and has taught for several other chapters throughout the country. Currently, Ms. White teaches for several competitive dance schools throughout New England and teaches Master classes and conventions across the United States. In addition to teaching, Ms. White is an established adjudicator with several dance competitions and has served on the panels for competitions both regionally and nationally.
