Evelyn Ott School of Dance COVID-19 Update
Studio Closed Monday March 16th – Saturday March 21st
Evelyn Ott School of Dance takes the safety and health of our dancers and their families very seriously. While the decision to close is not one that is easily made, we have decided in an abundance of caution to close the studio starting Monday March 16th through Saturday March 21st. This closure will officially replace our scheduled Spring Break that was to be held April 13th – April 18th. At this time we are watching the rapidly evolving situation and will maintain weekly updates. Should any additional closures be necessary, we will communicate that decision as soon as possible. Please continue to check our social media pages, your email, and our website for updates. Be on the lookout for another update next Sunday.
We thank you all for your patience and cooperation at this time.

Friday Update from EOSOD:
To ensure the health and safety of our families, and in following the guidelines set by the CDC, we will remain closed an additional week through 3/28/2020. We are working together through the weekend to bring alternative learning to our students for the future. We understand you will have many questions; check back on Monday evening for updates with more information about our plans to make up for lost time and provide educational materials in the meantime.
We thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Letter from the Director issued.
Friday April 10, 2020
Dear Evelyn Ott School of Dance Families
We hope this letter finds you all safe, healthy, and doing well. These are certainly challenging times and we can not thank you all enough for the tremendous amount of support we have received. We are continuing to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation and are in full compliance with both local and Federal guidance to keep our dancers safe. We hope you all are supporting social distancing.
Behind the scenes we are working hard to provide resources for all our families during such difficult times. Earlier this month on our website we launched a full COVID-19 resource center. This contains important studio updates as available, our Virtual Classroom, and messages from our staff. We miss you all dearly and hope you are taking advantage of the incredible class opportunities our teachers have put together for your children to keep dancing and training. If you are not already, be sure to check out EOSOD on Facebook and Instagram as we continue to leverage social media to offer live events and tips to keep our dancers in training.
We know that you all have many questions surrounding important dates for the remainder of the season. We are working towards being able to provide answers to those questions as soon as possible. There are many decisions to be made in the coming weeks and we will be sure to provide updates to you all as soon as they are available. We want to be sure to finalize details on a broader scale before releasing to all our families. Additionally, for our competition teams whose season has been paused, we are working closely with various competition organizations and are in full support of their mission to keep competition opportunities available through the remainder of the season. We will issue separate updates to the teams once we have all the details ironed out.
As always, we love you all dearly and can not wait to get you all back into the studio as soon as possible.

Dear Evelyn Ott School of Dance Families
We hope this email finds you all staying healthy and safe. Several days ago the Governor of Virginia declared all non-essential business to remain closed through May 8th, with a stay-at-home order in effect through June 10th. In accordance with the order, Evelyn Ott School of Dance will remain closed through the month of May. As the situation could change, we will monitor closely all state mandated orders and adjust our plans to re-open sooner should it become an option. Please continue to check in with us on our website, via social media, and here through email updates.
We understand that you all have many questions surrounding previously scheduled events for our students. We are continuing to work behind the scenes to be able to answer those questions. Most of our community partners that we lean on to help make all of our events come to life are all currently closed. This makes our ability to plan move much slower. Be on the lookout for additional details as they become available. We appreciate your patience while we work to get everyone answers.
Thank you all for your continued support! We miss you all dearly and can not wait to have you back into the studio as soon as we can. Please #keepdancing and take advantage of the EOSOD Virtual Classroom!

Good Afternoon Evelyn Ott School of Dance Families
We hope this email finds you all staying safe and healthy. We could have never imagined this is what we would be up against in our 80th season and we appreciate all your support, and patience while we work to return to normal.
We are happy to announce the Evelyn Ott School of Dance Studio Credit program. This contains important details regarding payments and how we will address them.
All accounts with outstanding balances through 3/31/2020 remain due. This includes monthly tuition through March, Costume Deposits, and Costume Balances. Previous to our COVID-19 closure, costumes were already purchased, and delivered. We will not receive refunds for costumes. All families will get their recital costumes. We will be issuing a 50% credit back to your account for the recital fee. Please note that all credits back will be applied to owed charges first.
For April, May, and June there will be no tuition cost. We will continue to offer free opportunities to all our families to continue dance from home in our Virtual Classroom on our website. There are currently over 20 classes available in a variety of styles for all ages.
We are still working through details to ensure we can continue our season. As you can imagine, this is a huge task to work through. Most of our community partners are also closed which makes the opportunity to plan move slower then we would like. We will continue to work incredibly hard behind the scenes to get our 80th season up and running and will be sure to update you on progress as details become more available.
If you have any questions, please email the studio directly and we are happy to help. Thank you all again for your support during this difficult time. We miss you all dearly and can not wait to see you all in the studio again.
